Samahuru Adventist High School in Tsholotsho in Matabeleland North has received a donation of PPEs and sanitary pads from a United Kingdom (UK) based charity organization, Oasis Charity Trust.
A representative of the Trust Muziwandile Dube in Tsholotsho said the donation will greatly benefit the school.
“We received 50 masks,15 litres sanitizer, 1× thermometer and 50 sanitary pads for girls. We received them from Mrs Polite Mkhosi in the UK of Our Oasis Charity Trust”
“We are most grateful for the generous donations of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and PPE funding provided to our school to help ensure the health and safety of our learners, staff members and ancillary staff this school calendar year. We are also extremely grateful for the support we received from Our Oasis Charity Trust-sanitary pads donation. We are hoping that this donation will go a long way in making sure girls do not miss school because they do not have sanitary towels and we urge other companies, well wishers and individuals to work together with us to improve the lives of girls in the rural areas”, said Dube.
When contacted for comment, Mkhosi articulated on the Trust’s mandate which is to support, help, empower those suffering in Southern Africa.
“The sad truth is that poverty is constantly rising and as a direct result of this, children, young people and women suffer the most. Our charity aims to support those suffering with food, clothing, sanitary towels, school fees and other accessories to those who are urgently in need,” she said.
