Young people who are part of Lupane-based  youth initiative, Catch Them  Young, have set plans to embark on a 170 km fundraising walk next month.

The initiative’s representative Thando Nyoni said plans were underway for the walk from Lupane to Hwange so as to raise fees for at least 17 underprivileged girls.

“The walk is a way of raising fees for 17 girls in various schools in Lupane District. Every 10 km that we will walk will raise fees for one girl. The walk is set to start on 7 November 2020 ending on 17 November 2020”, said Nyoni.

Nyoni also said that the walk is open to members of the public. He added that donations and partnerships were welcome.

” People are free to join the walk, we are open to everyone. We would also appreciate partnerships and donations. There is an arrangement for those who would like to assist by paying fees for the girls. The fees can be paid directly to the bank and as an organisation we don’t take any money, we only link the sponsor with the school for the beneficiary “, he said.
